Innovation Title | High quality cassava peel for animal feed in Nigeria |
Innovation description | Production of high quality cassava peels to be used for animal feed is based on a simple and low-tech process that can be carried out by small-scale processors. This process allow to add value to the large quantities of wastes and residues generated by cassava processing and contribute in reducing the environmental hazards and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. |

Stage of Innovation | Stage 3: available/ ready for uptake |
Year (Stage) | 2020 |
Stage Description | In Nigeria, small and medium scale processors (20+) are now engaged in transforming cassava peels into high quality cassava peels. They are selling their product to feed millers (3 large factories have already included HQCP in their formulations for fish and livestock feed) and directly to fish and livestock farmers. |
