Innovation TitleLand-use modelling, scenarios and decision-support tools to optimize integrated fish-agri food systems
Innovation description Novel GIS and modelling approaches characterizing rice-fish systems integrating biophysical, land-use and rights, demographic and social data layers. This allowed the production of a unique dataset that considers key biophysical, land use and socioeconomic characteristics of the Ayeyarwady Delta region. Outputs include suitability maps designed as decision-support tools and production-system scenarios and trade-off analysis for multi-functional landscapes.

Year (Stage)2019
Stage DescriptionBetween stage one and two (i.e., typology developed in earlier phase, typology adaptations for 2020 publication). Maps and early models have been produced (Dubois et al. 2019) - further refinements in development. Capacity building efforts and policy dialogue commenced to increase likelihood of decision-making influence and tool uptake.
