Innovation Title | Crop modelling tools for identifying the G×E×M options for enhancing resilience and productivity of sorghum in India |
Innovation description | In this innovation “Crop modelling tools for identifying the G×E×M options for enhancing resilience and productivity of rabi sorghum in India” we put in place the APSIM modelling framework enabling the target stakeholders (primarily the sorghum improvement teams) to understand the spatial variability of post rainy sorghum production systems in India and the optimal GxM leading to production stabilization/enhancement in given E. The baseline framework and will be further developed with stakeholder feedback. |

Stage of Innovation | Stage 3: available/ ready for uptake |
Year (Stage) | 2019 |
Stage Description | Results that are ready for uptake showed that breeding success remained highly probabilistic; maximum resilience and economic benefits depended on drought frequency. Maximum potential could be explored by specific combinations of traits. A number of articles are under review for publications, and presentations in conferences as updates will come. |
