Innovation Title | Climate smart culture of genetically improved tilapia through In-Pond Raceway System (IPRS) |
Innovation description | An In-Pond Raceway System (IPRS) was developed in Egypt to recycle water within tilapia pond. The system is established using a raceway cells/units inside ponds and creating a water current in the cell. The open pond area is subdivided by dikes to allow full water circulation through the raceways. The system was developed to improve water use efficiency in tilapia ponds, particularly farms adopting genetically improved tilapia. |
