Innovation description Katope is a green-colored plant with small ears and copper brown seed. It stands erect of medium height. The variety yields 2.0-2.5 t/ha in farmers fields. Katope is tolerant to several abiotic stresses. The dietary value of this variety lies in its high Calcium and Iron content. This variety has been developed under the AVISA Project, and will potentially contribute to SDG Goals 1,2,3,5,8,12,13, and 17.
