Innovation description The resilient model fishing village is intended to facilitate change in ecological, social, cultural, and economic well-being through inclusive community development initiatives. The approach brings some positive outcomes in improving the livelihoods of fishing communities, the co-management system, women empowerment and social capitals in a holistic manner.

Stage DescriptionThe Bangladesh government has declared the model as "an ideal fishing village". The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock (MoFL) has taken up the program and has started scaling the concept of resilient fishing villages through its Sustainable Coastal and Marine Fisheries Project (SCMFP), funded by the World Bank.
