  Activity/Product Description

(1) Phenotypic data generated on set of hybrids to facilitate heterotic pool formation. (2) Developed annually at least 5 new A-/B-pairs in A4 and A5 CMS backgrounds and at least 20 of their corresponding restorers. New composites developed for A4 and A5 CMS seed and restorer parents. (3) Seed of parental lines of promising hybrids available. Standardized country-specific seed-production systems available. (1) Researchers knowledge and access to diverse groups of hybrid parents increased to develop superior hybrids. (2) Hybrids in India have increased cytoplasmic and nuclear diversity. (3) Hybrids available to NARS and private sector (country-wise) for up-scaling.
