  Activity/Product Description

The objectives include (1) to understand radiation interception for different pigeonpea and groundnut varieties at different densities in the doubled-up legume systems to establish level of compatibility of the two crops in inter-crops (2) to identify best fit pigeonpea and groundnut varieties for inter-cropping systems that optimize yield for both crops and improve economic returns to smallholder farmers (3) to examine the extent to which different crop arrangement and densities for maize and grain legume varieties optimize utilization of radiation, water and nutrients in intercrop systems and across agro-ecological zones
