OUR IMPACT

Goals

Agricultural productivity in the dry area countries is improved, especially in Afghanistan. To supply necessary measures for the arrangement and implementation of the training courses.

Objectives

The objective of the course is to enhance capacity development of government officials and researchers who are engaged in agricultural development mainly in Afghanistan. They will gain knowledge and information obout the following topics: Genebank and Germplasm Management, Soil Analysis, Soil Chemistry, Soil Physics, Soil Fertility, Seed Health Testing, Seed processing and Storage, Cereal Crops Breeding, On Farm Water Management, Seed Production, Farm Operation Management and Extension Methods.

Problems and Needs Analysis

Local governements and institutions, in Afghanistan and other countries in the region, require a strong international support, in order to enhance agricultural development by improving modern agricultural techniques.

Intervention Strategy(ies)

Training government officials and researchers.

Impact Pathway

In 2016, the project provided seven trainings courses to goverment officials and researches, mainly form Afghanistan. The trainings contributed to up-to-date knowledge and enhanced capacity in Biodiversity and Integrated Gene management, Integrated Water and Land Management, and Social, Economic and Policy.
