OUR IMPACT

Goals

It is seeking to meaningfully contribute to the realization of a vision where households residing in such areas have transitioned from subsistence farming and emergency aid to sustainable rural development. This is to be achieved by increasing food and water security, enhancing market access, and strengthening the local economy for different categories of farmers.

Objectives

To increase the water and food security and drive economic development of the rural population in target zones in Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger

Problems and Needs Analysis

The project is addressing biophysical (soil nutrient and soil water), market and institutional constraints to rural development

Intervention Strategy(ies)

The project addresses three broad outcomes, (i) improvement of water and food security, (ii) commercialization of the rural economy and (iii) Creation of an environment that enables water and food security and economic growth

Impact Pathway

DryDev’s strategy is informed by two complementary and overarching ‘theories of change’ developed during the Inception Year. One is focused on DryDev’s direct development work with famers, while the other focuses on promoting the uptake of evidence and learning generated under the programme.
