The overall objective is to achieve increased groundnut productivity and profitability of groundnut cultivation in Asia, through development and deployment of new groundnut varieties that meet the needs of the farmers, traders and industry in partnership with national partners in Asia.

OUR IMPACT

Goals

The goal of the project is to help alleviate rural poverty, and ensure food and nutritional security of poor smallholder farmers in Asia.

Objectives

1. To develop high yielding groundnut varieties to meet the needs of oil and food uses, and suitable for target regions in Asia. 2. To develop high oleic varieties with good shelling, uniform seed size to meet the industry needs in Asia. 3. To share breeding material with NARS in Asia. 4. Testing the new varieties in collaboration with NARS Partners 5. Develop and promote alternate seed models to ensure the availability of new improved groundnut varieties to farmers
