Increasing Resilience of Ecosystems and Communities through Restoration of the Productive Bases of Salinized Lands

The project "Increasing Resilience of Ecosystems and Communities through Restoration of the Productive Bases of Salinized Lands", approved by GCF Board in November 2015, has gone under modifications that need to be re-assessed by GCF. For this reason, a land degradation technical advisory is needed to assess the technical and financial soundness and propose, where needed, corrective actions and amendments of technical and financial nature.

The consultancy approach will include the following steps: - Desk review of all the project documents related to GCF FP003 and of relevant technical studies related to the funding proposal, as provided by the GCF secretariat and CSE; - Develop a mission plan and an outline of the assessment report; - Field mission in the project areas, including interviews with the applicant (accredited entity) organization team (CSE), and other project implementation partners, with representatives of the national and local governments and beneficiaries of the project, and visits to the project sites. The aim of the field mission is to gauge the technical soundness of the activities and solutions proposed by the applicant, verify if the activities were properly costed and if the project design responds to the GCF investment criteria; - Submit a technical report to the GCF Secretariat with findings and recommendations including if and which corrective measures are needed.
