Farming with Alternative Pollinators (FAP) is a knowledge-based approach requiring minimum investment by farmers. Therefore, many different ways of communication are used to train and inform farmers, e.g. film, PDF files to be sent to smart phones, Farmer Field Schools, social media, public TV, brochures etc. Audiovisuell information plays an important role in particular for illiterate farmers.

Farming with Alternative Pollinators (FAP; Christmann and Aw-Hassan 2012; ; Christmann et al. 2017; Christmann 2019) is a new agricultural approach protecting pollinators and predators without rewards for farmers. The farmers get higher net income per surface though or better: because they use a part of the field for habitat enhancement with marketable plants and nesting support out of local materials. FAP might be sustainable pollinator protection scalable also not only in Middle Income Countries, but even in Low Income Countries. The approach has been tested in Uzbekistan and Morocco - countries with highly differing insect diversity.

ONCA (L’Office National du Conseil Agricole) is the Moroccan organisation in charge of the Strategy Green Morocco (Plan Maroc Vert) and of outscaling the Farming with Alternative Pollinators (FAP) approach in Morocco.
Within the outscaling strategy of the IKI project, ONCA synchronized the short film introduction on FAP and the importance of pollinators for human wellbeing, which had been produced in English within the ITAACC project on FAP-faba bean for sustainable intensification of faba bean production. The film had been actually taken in an IKI FAP-eggplant field, as at that time the faba bean fields did not flower anymore. By the commitment of ONCA the Arabic version can now be used for outscaling FAP in Morocco and any other Arabic speaking country. Pollinator protection is crucial for sustaining biodiversity, ecosystems and human wellbeing.
